Parent Policies
Parents, please read and understand the following policies for Union Lake Kids.
Contact us if you have any questions.
Parents who are members of Union Lake Baptist Church will register each child annually (generally before Promotion Sunday).
New visitors must register their child before leaving them in the care of Union Lake Kids workers. During the worship service, new visitors will accompany their child(ren) to their Jr. Church classroom for registration.
Please be sure to list any allergies, health issues, or special needs.
Please do not bring your child if they are experiencing or have experienced any of the below symptoms within the last 24 hours.
Fever greater than 37.3° C or 99.1° F
Runny nose with thick, yellow or green discharge
Sore throat
Cough
Any unexplained skin rash
Any skin infection
Pink eye or any other eye infection or drainage
Head lice (child must be free of all nits)
Vomiting and/or diarrhea
When you check-in your child, please leave any necessary instructions as outlined in our Check-In and Check-Out Policy on page 12. Be sure to leave a cell phone number and turn your phone on vibrate during the worship service or use a pager, if provided. Please keep cell phones/pagers in plain sight during the service.
Workers would appreciate your prompt return after the service. Checking-out your child is required for their dismissal from class. Thus parents must retrieve their children in their classrooms.
Parents may authorize others to check-out their children from Union Lake Kids classes if listed on the registration form. In such cases, name and a picture ID will be required. Only people 13 and older may check-out a child from their classroom.
If a minor does not have a picture ID, they will be identified with the church directory or will have a photo attached to the participant’s registration card.
Please give your child any needed medication yourself prior to check-in. Workers will not administer any medications except diaper rash ointment or Epi-Pen in the case of an emergency allergic reaction. However, diaper rash ointment or Epi-Pen must be authorized and supplied by the parent.
At least one parent, guardian, or adult responsible for the child must remain in the building for Union Lake Baptist Church services while their children are being cared for by Union Lake Kids workers.
We will consider it necessary to call a parent when:
Your young child cries continually for longer than 15 minutes.
Your child has become ill or injured
There are any discipline concerns that require your intervention. If your child demonstrates continual disruptive behavior while in the class, you may be asked to remain until the behavior ceases or remove your child from the class.
By participating in Union Lake Kids, you grant your permission for Union Lake Baptist Church to use video, photos or images of you and/or your children for church promotion on our website, in emails, social media, printed material, and other media.
Should you have strong personal objections or legal prohibitions, please provide a written explanation and reasonable efforts shall be made to fulfill your wishes.
ID Tags
Check-in and Check-out requires an ID tag which workers will give you and your child each week. If lost, picture IDs will be used to match the correct child to parent(s).
Labeling Items
Please label your child’s bag and all other items before leaving them in the classroom.
Diapers
If applicable, please provide your own diapers and wipes, along with an extra change of clothes for your child.
Snacks
Please provide your child with a labeled cup and drink. Children may be given an age appropriate snack (e.g., animal crackers, pretzels) and water, so inform us if this is not allowed for your child. In that case, please provide your own snack, if desired.
